Vision Statement
Our vision is to teach your child the word of God and to encourage you, the parent, while coming along side of you as your child grows in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe…

- Children are a gift from God and should be handled with care and love.
- Children are important in the kingdom of God, and Christ died to save children from their sin.
- Christ has called children to follow him, and they can then be equipped to serve Christ and others.
- We are to provide opportunities for unchurched children to hear and receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Positive self-esteem promotes both personal growth and growth in a relationship with God.
- Ministry should be creative, innovative and in touch with the children and families of our community.
- Church should be a safe place for children: screened workers, age-appropriate lessons, toys, and equipment.
- Relational ministry is best served with adults who serve as positive role models to the children.

PowerSource
Our PowerSource ministry is full of Bible teaching, fun and worship all in one package. Our ministry is set up in three components, each target to a particular type of learning and relational environment:

1. Plug-In
Plug-In is designed to introduce children to a weekly topic in a setting that gives them individualized attention from their Small Group Leader and plenty of interaction with a small group of peers.

2. Power-Up
Power-Up is designed to engage children K-6th grade in worship within a large group setting, music and drama.

3. Catch-On
Catch-On is designed to help kids understand how the day’s topic applies to them. They will discuss real-life experiences, interact with a close-knit group of peers, and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles.

XLR8 (Preteens Ministry)
Northland Christian Church is excited to offer a ministry specially designed just for young people aged 10-12 called XLR8 offered on Wednesday nights for Preteens Ministry. 

What is Preteens Ministry?
Preteens Ministry is more than just a stop along the way between Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry. It is a vibrant, dynamic environment where young people can explore and learn faith in deeper levels, develop a positive self-image, and make lasting friendships.

Some of the goals of Preteens Ministry are:
1.Leading young people to having a heart for the Lord and to accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior,
2.Helping young people develop their relationships with other people, particularly other Christian young people,
3.Learning the Bible and how it should be the primary source of guidance in their lives,
4.Knowing that the body of people known as NCC is a haven and refuge from the turbulent storms of the world.

Christ-Centered 1 Corinthians 9:22
- We focus on the spiritual, social, physical, and mental development of your child.
- Our desire is to help your preteen feel a warm sense of belonging.
- Our goal is that every preteen feels welcome and wanted.

Relational Proverbs 27:17
Preteens acquire great benefits by having relationships with positive role models. Our dedicated adult volunteers work with small groups to develop caring relationships. This provides preteens with a safe environment in which to experience spiritual growth.

Safe John 17:14-15
We strive to make Elevate a place that is physically, socially, and emotionally safe for your preteen child. Every volunteer undergoes an application process and background check.

Application-Oriented Psalms 119:11
Our curriculum revolves around experiential learning, and gives every preteen the opportunity to discover what the Bible says and how to apply it to his our life. Each week we provide teaching relevant to their lives.

Our goal is that your preteen would look forward to being in Elevate every Wednesday night. Your child will enjoy learning about the Bible, making friends and participating in life-changing activities...making it the best hour and a half of their week!
